Choosing delivery of a pdf file of your map allows you to view the map on your computer and print it using your own printer. If you would like full color high-quality prints, you may take this file to a local FedExKinkos or copy shop to arrange for printing. With the pdf file you may have options for shrinking or enlarging your print. Discuss your plans with your local shop for more information. If you opt for email delivery of your file, there are no shipping charges. A CD-Rom version by mail is available for nominal shipping fees.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD FREE MAP IMAGES
FROM PIPER PUBLISHING

We encourage you to download these historic map images for your personal and non-commercial use, including use on your own personal website. We would appreciate you linking back to www.piperpublishing.com if you use the image electroncially so that others are made aware of our free download offer.

The map images are sized to be approximately the size of a standard piece of paper when printed. For high quality printing, detailed research, or publishing in your own family history narrative, we offer full-sized, enlargable, high-resolution images for purchase in county CD-Rom compilations or as individual town images.

To download images from Piper Publishing to your own computer:

  • Select the county in which the town you seek resides from the list at the bottom and click to open that page.
  • Click the spyglass logo spyglass icon next to the town you wish to view and download. The image will open in a pop-up window.
  • PC users: using the RIGHT mouse button (i.e. the one less frequently used), click in the middle of the map image in the pop-up window. You should see a menu appear with an option to “Save As…” Select the folder in which you wish to save the map image and rename the file if desired.
  • MAC users: click on the image and hold. Drag the image to your desktop or folder on your computer.
